[this is from the first proper recording session once i was settled up in boston. we set up the drums and amps in the workshop and tracked everything in one day (maybe a guitar overdub the next day). visiting the song later i realized that it would feel somewhat "inauthentic" to the track to redo the vocals or guitars so i chopped up the old guitar solo for leads (and couldn't help myself from adding some noises on top for color]
lyrics
in every sequence of events
with all the time that we've spent
it seems as though there'd be a place inside where
all things are grass and leaves and wood
and all is well and life is good
and you and i would just be bears there
into another way of (life)
we've gotta drive to survive
to fight to stay alive
long enough to see it all go down
and where there once stood flowers there will only be towers
what i'm really thinking is we need some changing
rearrange this whole big thing into a pile way down there
what i'm really thinking is we need some changing
rearrange this whole big thing into a pile way down there
